Woolworths Holdings appoints new non-executive director
Sindiswa Victoria Zilwa was appointed to the Woolworths Holdings Board as
non-executive director with effect from 1 January 2002.
In 1990 Sindi became the second black woman Chartered Accountant in South
Africa.  She lectured at UNISA's and UNITRA's post-graduate departments till
1993 and then co-founded Filtane Nkonki and Company, a women owned chartered
accountancy firm in Umtata.
In May 1995 she co-founded Nkonki & Nkonki, which later merged into Nkonki
Sizwe Ntsaluba in June 1996, and became the first national black accounting
firm in South Africa.  Presently she is the Executive Chairman of Nkonki
Sizwe Ntsaluba Incorporated and a Chairman of Sikhona Financial Advisors
(Pty) Ltd.
Sindi is also a current director of SA Mint Company (Pty) Ltd, WIPHOLD
Limited, Decilion Limited and SARB Captive Insurance Company Limited and has
recently been appointed to the board of Netcare Limited.
