Woolworths Holdings Limited (WHL) announces the appointment of Nolitha Fakude,

Hawton, chairman of Woolworths Holdings, said, "The new appointments will
provide the board with a combination of broader knowledge and more diversity.

the experience she gained as the president of the Black Management Forum. Chris
Nissen has agreed to assume the role as chairperson of the transformation
committee which will be formed shortly. Mike Leeming's appointment as a
director and as chairman of the risk committee and member of the audit committee
provides the group with the skills and experience resulting from his commercial

Two executives of WHL have resigned from the board with effect from 30 June
2004. Deon de Kock has elected to take early retirement after twelve years with
the business. Mark Canning who has been with the company for fifteen years has

To further streamline operations and integration to meet the changing needs of
our customers, the executive responsibilities within the group have been
restructured.

responsibility for Financial Services. Kevin Stanford, who presently has
responsibility for our stores extends his portfolio to include the franchise
